Sunday 2nd October 2016 Ettamogah Pub - Gunning Showgrounds

Have woken to a beautiful day - thank you...... No wind, no rain and sunny - excellent.  Not sure where the day will take us today just heading North at this stage.  A tourist stop at Holbrook to take photos of the submarine (HMAS Otway) and then on towards Tarcutta where we have stopped for morning tea where there is a lovely memorial wall for all the truckies that have lost their lives on our highways...so sad, so many.    Our camp for tonight is at the Gunning Showgrounds, quite a few caravaners here as there is a "Talent Show" over the long weekend in the big shed.  Magnificent Happy Hour sitting in the sun and chatting with people walking past.  Canberra has the Floriade Flower Show on so there are people heading down to attend that.  We have decided to go over and have a look at the Talent Show, I actually thought it was a music festival and was all keyed up for a bit of dancing, but no, just a Talent Show with approx 20 people there so a little sad.  As we were trying to sneek out during a small break around 10.00pm the lady on the door said to me "you can't leave yet he hasn't finished" to which I replied "we are very old so it is off to bed for us".......a different way to spend a Sunday night.
